1. Use Keywords Smartly
First, decide the right keyword for which you want your website to rank. For example, for this blog I can use "SEO for Beginners".
Now to rank my blog for the above keyboard, I will add the same keyword in the starting 100 words of my blog, in the title of my blog and in the meta tag of my blog.
2. Keep Users On The Page Longer
Search engines are getting smarter with time. Search engines like google use a set of complex algorithms to access the quality of the content.
One thing, they also monitor, is that if the visitors who accessed the page through the search engine, are reading the whole blog or not. That way the search engine will rank the content accordingly.
So you need to write your blog in such a way that you grab the interest of the user. Use proper headings, subheadings, bullet points, etc. Anything that makes your blog more readable.
3. Update Old Pages
Update your old contents. It will help you more than you would probably think.
With time the content also ages. And there will be other competitors who are also targeting with same keywords. By the time their content would rank will improve and yours will decrease.
Just give a facelift, and you will enter in the game again.
4. Increase the Speed of Your Website
A slow website increases the bounce-back rate. That means straight away that the visitors are gonna leave your websites like that. Improve the website speed, and the visitors will stay longer.
5. Guest Post
Find similar posts of your niche and contact the website owner to write guest posts for their blog. Do the same thing with your blog.
This will give you more backlinks and will help to improve the SEO rank of your website.
And try to be guest on podcasts, that way you will have new visitors, the users of your podcast host.
